WHAT'S
NEW
ARCTIC
ROSE SINKS
GALAXY BURNS
WHO'S
NEXT?

On April 2, 2001, the 93' trawler ARCTIC ROSE sank so quickly no distress
call was issued and 15 crewmembers died without time to even don survival
suits.
On Sunday, October 20, 2002, the Galaxy explosively caught fire, leaving
the 26-member crew with the choice of either burning or freezing by
jumping off.

Why do these accidents happen? When
will they stop?
We are actively involved in discovering the cause for these tragic
losses. We have represented families, individual seamen, officers,
deckhands, processors, and just about every variety of seamen in these
terrible tragedies.
Our work has been cited in the national and local press. For example,
the Seattle Times published an article regarding questions concerning
insurance representatives' and adjusters' actions regarding families
not represented by legal counsel. In the article appearing at the
right, "Arctic Rose Legal Case Stakes High," we were quoted
extensively regarding adjustment practices and troubling questions
whether inappropriate pressure may have been applied to families unrepresented
by legal counsel to agree to settlements without first having independent
legal review.
In major maritime disaster cases we retain experts on marine safety,
naval architecture, and follow the Coast Guard investigation directly.
To coordinate with Coast Guard investigations, we retain Captain Kirk
Greiner (ret.), former Commander of the Coast Guard Marine Safety
Office.
Why? Why did this happen?
This is a question we very often hear from survivors' families, and
the survivors themselves. We can answer this question for you. Through
the litigation discovery process, the truth comes out. Ships don't
sink, or burn, unless something went wrong somewhere, somehow. It's
our job to find out, and to tell our clients, why.
We also coordinate with other claimants' counsel when, where and how
claims and/or lawsuits are filed. We share information obtained by
all claimants through the discovery process.
