COOS BAY
Address: 117 Anderson, Suite B, Coos Bay, Oregon, 97420
Telephone: 1-800-SEASALT (1-800-732-7258).
The very first settlers to the Coos Bay area were fishermen attracted
by the large number of salmon to be found in the Siletz and Salmon
Rivers. Since 1837, there has been some form of fishing in the Coos
Bay area.

Over the years, we have found that many mariners are attracted to
Coos Bay as a place to live. Coos Bay provides not only a wonderful
place to live, but also a living environment that allows the mariner
to live amidst a community steeped in maritime traditions and literally
providing a maritime atmosphere.

We have represented persons injured aboard vessels with crews as small
as a single (1) person. Commonly, smaller vessels will be staffed
by two to three crewmembers. Nonetheless, in many circumstances, persons
working and injured on these vessels, no matter how small, may qualify
for federal benefits under the Jones Act and/or general maritime law.

Many persons working aboard small boats are completely unfamiliar
with their rights under federal law, and many often assume that because
it's a "small" boat, they have no rights. However, in many
circumstances an employer insurance collective group may provide insurance
coverage. In appropriate circumstances, a lien against a vessel may
arise automatically as a result of injury, resulting in the vessel
becoming subject to attachment to ensure compensation for medical
expense and injury loss.

In appropriate circumstances, we will meet with a client in Coos Bay
or the greater Coos Bay area, and have often done so over the past
many years. Also, we have assisted some of our clients in obtaining
second medical opinions in Seattle so as to benefit from the latest
medical technology.

Call us for a no-obligation initial telephone consultation.
